Due to an accident in the Northrop garage, the main water pipe providing chilled water to the machine room in Walter Library (our building) has been damaged.
As a first step toward reducing the heat load on our compute clusters in Walter Library, we will be halting the submission of new jobs to the clusters. As jobs running finish, this will reduce the overall heat load.
Depending on the length of time repairs take, and the success/failure of other heat mitigation efforts, we may be forced to shut down one or both of the Mesabi/Mangi and Agate clusters.
